About Rossmill Woodland
Rossmill is a 17 acre site principally composed of Semi Natural Ancient Woodland on the sloping Northern bank of the River Bollin below Hale Barns. Rossmill Woodland was the first site managed by the Bollin Valley Partnership. Saplings trees planted in the initial years are now over 30 years old.
Two areas of grassland within the wood are managed as wildflower meadows, with the grass being cut and removed in late summer or early autumn to stop the grasses becoming too dominant over the flowers.
