Balsam Blitz 3 - Ashley Mill

The third in a series of Balsam bashing events. This one is in Partnership with the Friends of Bowdon/Bollin. Help us out on the battle against the alien weeds! No experience needed. Long sleeves and trousers recommended.

Cost: Free event.
Time: 10:30am to 12:30pm.

Sunday 10 July

Foraging Workshop and Balsam Bashing at Mottram Hall

Alongside our regular balsam bashing events we are trialling a partnership with Forager Jim, from Forage Box, who will be running a foraging section of the event for a heavily discounted price. All we ask in return is that you help out by pulling up a little balsam.

This workshop is designed to get you as involved as possible - this includes identifying, picking and tasting a range of wild plants that will be found on the day, along with as much Himalayan Balsam removal as you like!

Booking and payment in advance is essential. Suitable for anyone over the age of 6.

Cost: Tickets £10 each for adults, free for children 18 or under.
Time: 9.00am to 1.00pm

Conservation in Action 2 - Rossmill Working Party - Rossmill, Hale Barns

Help keep your local park looking good and learn some new skills by joining the Bollin Valley Rangers on some conservation tasks. This will include tree pruning, footpath work and balsam bashing.

Booking  in advance is essential.

Time: 9:30am to 3:00pm
Meeting Point: Rossmill, Hale Barns WA15 0EL SJ7898 8530. The postcode takes you to the junction between Carrwood and Rossmill Lane where there is space to park. Walk further down Rossmill Lane to the gate into Rossmill where we will meet.

Meet the Longhorns - Oak Farm, Styal

This is a unique event with a chance to come and see the Bollin Valley Partnership’s Longhorn cattle. You will meet some of our amazing cows and calves. The Countryside Rangers will be on hand to talk to you about the importance of the cattle in the management of our country parks. There will also be activities for children to help learn more about the cattle.
